Lakeshorts International Film Festival has grown exponentially in the five years since its inaugural season. The festival has received over 1000 submissions and exhibited over 96 selections from 19 different countries, celebrating homegrown, Canadian talent alongside international selections in both the Gala and Loved & Local programs.
Spearheaded by renowned Canadian actress Michelle Nolden (Saving Hope, Nikita, Republic of Doyle) and producer Chris Szarka, Lakeshorts celebrates short film, bringing together seasoned vets and up and comers in short filmmaking. The festival features programs that encourage emerging filmmakers to learn, create, and develop mentorship opportunities.
New to the 2015 festival was “The Long & Short of It”, an industry panel offered free and open to the public in collaboration with the City of Toronto and Cultural Hotspots. Where filmmakers and fans could attend and learn from a panel of experts about the process of developing, producing, selling, and exhibiting short film.
Lakeshorts International Film Festival is produced by Fifth Ground Entertainment in association with Lakeshore Arts. Learn more about the festival, and how you can apply at lakeshorts.ca.
